Welcome to
Front Royal Catholics

The mission of Front Royal Catholics Civic Education Group is to increase the civic education and civic participation of individual Front Royal and Warren County Catholics in events and on issues ranging from the local to the national. The goal is for individuals to become effective promoters and defenders of Catholic interests in our community.

Let your Catholic Light Shine!

“One man can make a difference” – Dr. Warren H. Carroll – Founder of Christendom College

“The best way to fulfill one’s obligations of justice and love is to contribute to the common good according to one’s means and the needs of others, and also to promote and help public and private organizations devoted to bettering the conditions of life.”

The Good Guys

Front Royal Catholics Civic Education Group promotes and endorses select local candidates during each election cycle. These well-qualified candidates are endorsed because, if elected, they will work to maintain Christian and family values in a conservative and fiscally responsible manner.

Patrick Pennefather
Fork District, Board of Supervisors – Republican Primary June 17, 2025

Patrick Pennefather is a proud American, husband, and father of three. As a full-time roofer, Patrick knows about hard work, and believes in the importance of building a strong future for blue collar workers in Warren County. He is for fiscal responsibility, tourism, and keeping Warren County Warren County – NO DATA CENTERS! Every decision he makes is made with his family and community in mind first and foremost. He is running to keep our area rural for our children and our community.

Cameron Williams
Happy Creek District, Board of Supervisors – Republican Primary June 17, 2025

Cameron Williams will continue the fight to ensure that the residents of Happy Creek don’t have to choose between paying their taxes or buying groceries, worry about being priced out of their homes, and worry about driving hours to receive quality medical care. He will pursue initiatives to support public safety and adequate funding and resources for the Warren County Sheriff’s Department. He is against ALL DATA CENTERS in Warren County.

Joseph Stahl and Ashlyn Thomas for School Board – November 4, 2025 Election

Retired Air Force Colonel Joseph Stahl and 10-year Educator Ashlyn Thomas have both been endorsed by the Warren County Republican Committee. Stahl is running for the Happy Creek District seat on the School Board while Thomas is running for the Fork District seat.

Front Royal Catholics Civic Education Group fully supports both of these candidates based on their experience, character, and goals for improving the public schools in Warren County.

Empower your Civic Engagement

You – YES YOU! – can make a difference in Warren County and Beyond!

Local Politics

Although focusing on national politics may seem more interesting to many people, the truth is that local politics and the people who are elected to local offices may have a more immediate impact on your life and your local community.

Getting involved, staying informed, and promoting good candidates to run for local office is extremely important. Front Royal Catholics Civic Education Group is dedicated to helping local Catholics stay informed about issues of importance in our community.

Some of the more important government bodies include:

Warren County Board of Supervisors: The Board of Supervisors directs policies for County affairs and manages the County’s entire budget and all allocations given to other County entities, including Fire & Rescue, Sheriff’s Office, Warren County Public Schools, and more. The Board has five representatives, one elected from each magisterial district. The County Administrator then oversees implementing the Board’s policies.

Warren County School Board: The School Board has five representatives, one elected from each magisterial district. The School Board oversees all aspects of the local public school system. The Superintendent enacts all of the Board’s policies.

Front Royal Town Council: This group of 7 elected officials who are residents of the Town of Front Royal (6 Members and 1 Mayor) are responsible for providing Front Royal citizens, businesses, and visitors with quality public services in a fiscally prudent manner that sustains Front Royal’s character, beauty, and small-town charm.

Other important government bodies include:

Town Planning Commission, County Planning Commission, Warren County Electoral Board, and The Warren County Library Board.

Join the Warren County Republican Committee

One of the best ways that you can get involved and stay informed about issues affecting YOUR community is by joining the local Republican party – The Warren County Republican Committee (WCRC).

The current Chairman of the WCRC is St. John the Baptist Catholic Church parishioner and Warren County School Board member Tom McFadden, Jr. Many of the other members of the WCRC leadership are conservative Republicans, interested in maintaining conservative values in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

Although the number of Republicans who are active members of the WCRC is not very large – around 50 members – this organization has a lot of important influence on the town and county elections each year. If you want to play an active role in helping conservatives get elected to important government positions, then joining the WCRC is the answer!

Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of each month at the Warren County Community Center (538 Villa Avenue, Front Royal, VA 22630) at 7pm. Meetings are open to the public and last approximately 60 minutes.

More information about how to become a member and dates of future meetings may be found on the WCRC website.

Front Royal Catholics is not endorsed by the Warren County Republican Committee and does not speak on its behalf.

Voting in Warren County

Your active participation in the election process is an absolute necessity! So many are apathetic to local politics and do not stay informed about who is running for what office, and when elections are held, and who the good and bad guys are on the ballot.

Understanding issues that can affect our community is the first step and Front Royal Catholics Civic Education Group is here to assist in the process. The emails that we send out to our ever-growing list of concerned local Catholics keep people informed and well-educated so that they can help others come to the same understanding and help our community keep any of its family values and Christian ethos that we all cherish.

Although more than 2/3rds of the voters in Warren County tend to vote Republican each election year, the growing influence of the radical Democrats is becoming apparent. Many people are moving from the more progressive areas of the country to our rural area, and bringing their destructive ideas with them. We need to work hard to maintain our cherished small-town, family values or we will become just another liberal town and county before long.

And getting informed about the candidates and issues, and then voting in local primaries and elections is the way to make all of this happen! And volunteering on campaigns, donating to good candidates, and helping to get the word out are all things you can – and should – do.
